Daigo Kanezumi (醍醐兼純)

Kanezumi DAIGO (November 18, 1747 - May 27, 1758) was a Kugyo (a Court noble) during the middle of the Edo period. He was the retainer of the Imperial Court during the time of Emperor Momozono (116th). His father was the Grand Minister Kaneka ICHIJO. His mother is unknown. His foster father was udaijin (minister of the right) Tsunetane DAIGO. His adopted son was Gon Chunagon (a provisional vice councilor of state), Fuyuyoshi DAIGO (Tsunetane's son).

He was born as an illegitimate son of the Ichijo family. He was conferred a peerage in 1750. In 1751, he became the adopted son of Kanekiyo DAIGO, who did not have a son. However, Kanekiyo's biological child, Fuyuyoshi was born in the same year, and thus Fuyuyoshi was adopted by Kanezumi.

In 1755, he became Jusanmi (Junior Third Rank) Sakone no chujo (Middle Captain of the Left Division of Inner Palace Guards), the position which ranked with Kogyo (a Court noble), and in1758, he was appointed as Chunagon (Middle Counselor), however, he died early at the age of 12. Fuyuyoshi succeeded the Daigo family.
